I'd break bread and wine if there was a church I could receive in

U2's Achtung Baby is 20 years old. It was originally released in November of 1991 - 3 years following their previous release Rattle and Hum. The last single from Rattle and Hum was "All I Want is You":

Three years later their next single was "The Fly":

Needless to say the change was quite drastic.

Achtung Baby has long been my favorite U2 album and quite possibly my favorite album in general. It also contains my favorite song "One." A 20th anniversary edition was recently released that contained a b-sides and outtakes CD which only reaffirmed my opinion of U2's music during that time frame.

I purchased Achtung Baby sometime in November of 2000 at the Disc Exchange in Knoxville. It was a cool night. The Tercel still had a CD player at that point. I put the disc in and on the twenty minute drive home, I never got past "One."
